Job Overview
Hlayeleni Consulting Engineers is seeking a motivated and suitably qualified Civil Engineering Technologist to join our growing engineering team.
The successful candidate will assist with the planning, design, supervision and implementation of civil infrastructure projects. These may include roads, stormwater systems, water supply networks, sanitation infrastructure and municipal development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design and documentation of civil engineering projects.
- Prepare technical drawings, calculations, reports and project schedules.
- Conduct site inspections and monitor construction progress.
- Assist with quality control and compliance with project specifications.
- Liaise with contractors, clients, consultants and relevant authorities.
- Prepare progress reports and maintain accurate project records.
- Assist with tender documentation, measurements and cost estimates.
- Ensure that projects comply with applicable engineering standards and regulations.
Minimum Requirements
- National Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Registration with ECSA as a Candidate Engineering Technologist will be advantageous.
- At least two years of relevant civil engineering or construction experience.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D or similar engineering software.
- Understanding of municipal infrastructure and construction processes.
- Valid South African driver’s licence.
- Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
